Aloo raita with tadka | Potato raita | Urulai kizhangu thayir pachadi-How to make-Step by step photos


Aloo raita with tadka By

Ingredients

  • Potato [Aoo, urulai kizhangu ]– ½ cup [boiled] or 2
  • Curd / Yogurt – 1 cup [fresh]
  • Red chilli powder – ¼ tsp
  • Roasted Cumin powder – ½ tsp [Dry roast cumin seeds, let it cool & grind to fine powder in a stone mortar.
  • Coriander leaves – 1 spring [chopped]
  • Salt to taste

For tempering / seasoning

  • Mustard Seeds– ½ tbsp
  • Curry leaves – 1 spring
  • Ginger – ½ tbsp [finely chopped]
  • Green chilli – 1 tbsp [finely chopped]
  • Oil – 3 tbsp

Preparation

  • Boil potato in a pressure cooker for 3 whistles with turmeric & red chilli power
  • Then peel off the skin & cut into cubes
  • In a bowl add fresh curd beat/ whisk well then add salt.
  • Add red chilli powder, roasted cumin powder, and coriander leaves mix well.
  • Add potato cubes gently mix.
  • Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds, let it splutter then add ginger, green chilli, curry leaves cut off heat.
  • Add seasoned ingredients into potato curd mixture
  • Serve immediately with chapati or pulao, biryani
