Thinai nei appam | Foxtail millet sweet appam recipe-How to make-Step by step photos

Ingredients
- Thinai maavu [Foxtail millet flour] – 1 cup
- Jaggery – ½ cup [grated]
- Banana – 1 [mashed]
- Cardamom powder – 1 tbsp
- Coconut – ¼ cup or 5 tbsp [grated]
- Ghee – as needed
- Salt a pinch
- Water as needed
Preparation
- In a bowl add thinai maavu, jaggery, cardamom powder, coconut, salt & mashed banana mix well.
- Add water mix well & make smooth batter.
- Heat iron paniyaram pan add ghee, pour batter, cover it & cook for 2 min on medium flame.
- Then flip over, pour ghee & cook till crisp & golden brown.
- Then take it out & serve hot.
Tip
- For another variation use varagu, samai, rava, wheat flour or rice flour

In a bowl add thinai maavu, cardamom powder, jaggery, mashed banana & pinch of salt mix well
Add water mix well
Add grated coconut mix well
Thinai nei appam batter is ready
Heat paniyaram pan, add ghee, pour batter, cook till crisp and golden brown
Flip over cook other side
Foxtail millet sweet nei appam is ready, serve immediately
