How to make Instant rava/semolina dhokla video
Ingredients
- Rava - 1 cup
- Ginger, green chilli paste – 1 tbsp
- Curd – 1 cup
- ENO fruit salt- 1 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed
- Oil - 1 tbsp
For seasoning
- Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
- Cumin seeds – ½ tbsp
- Green chilli – 1 [finely chopped]
- Ginger - 1 tbsp
- Sesame seeds - 1 tbsp
- Coconut - 2 tbsp
- Coriander leaves - 2 tbsp
- Curry leaves – 1 spring
- Asafoetida - 1/2 tsp
- Oil –2 bsp
Method
- in a bowl add rava, curd, water mix well to get smooth batter [idli batter consistency].
- Leave it fro 15 min
- Add ginger& green chilli paste, carrot, salt & baking soda mix well
- Grease steamer plate with 1 tbsp of oil.
- Pour batter into oil greased steaming plate.
- Then cover it & cook for 15 to 20 min in medium flame.
- For seasoning: Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds & let its splutter.
- Then add cumin seeds, asafoetida, green chilli, curry leaves, asafoetida, sesame seeds, & cut off heat.
- Add seasoned ingredients in to steamed rava dhokla
- Sprinkle coconut & coriander leaves & cut into desired shapes & serve with green chutney.

Spongy rava dhokla
Add rava [you can add roasted rava]
add salt
Add curd
Add water
Add ginger , green chilli
Add water, if required to make dosa consistency batter
Batter ready, cover it, leave it for 20 min
Add lemon juice
Add ENO fruit salt
Add water to bloom eno
Grease mold with oil
Pour batter
Evenly spread
Cover lid, leave it for 20 min on medium flame
20 min later, now its ready
For seasoning:- mustard, cumin, hing, ginger, green chilli, sesame, curry & coriander
Pour over the rava dhokla
Cut and serve
Spongy rava dhokla ready
Serve hot with green chutney
