How to make Instant rava/semolina carrot dhokla video


Ingredients

  • RAva - 1 cup
  • Ginger, green chilli paste – 1 tbsp
  • Curd – 1 cup
  • Carrot 1/2 cup [grated]
  • Baking soda - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as needed
  • Oil - 1 tbsp

For seasoning

  • Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds – ½ tbsp
  • Green chilli – 1 [finely chopped]
  • Ginger - 1 tbsp
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tbsp
  • Coconut - 2 tbsp
  • Coriander leaves - 2 tbsp
  • Curry leaves – 1 spring
  • Asafoetida - 1/2 tsp
  • Oil –2 bsp

Method

  • in a bowl add rava, curd, water mix well to get smooth batter [idli batter consistency].
  • Leave it fro 15 min
  • Add ginger& green chilli paste, carrot, salt & baking soda mix well
  • Grease steamer plate with 1 tbsp of oil.
  • Pour batter into oil greased steaming plate.
  • Then cover it & cook for 15 to 20 min in medium flame.
  • For seasoning: Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds & let its splutter.
  • Then add cumin seeds, asafoetida, green chilli, curry leaves, asafoetida, sesame seeds, & cut off heat.
  • Add seasoned ingredients in to steamed rava dhokla
  • Sprinkle coconut & coriander leaves & cut into desired shapes & serve with green chutney.
