How to make Home made dhokla video
Ingredients
- Besan [gram flour] – 1 cup
- Ginger, green chilli paste – 1 tbsp
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Curd – ¼ cup
- Sugar – ¼ tsp
- Lemon juice – ½ tbsp
- Eno fruit salt – ¼ tsp
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed
- Oil - 1 tbsp
For seasoning
- Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
- Cumin seeds – ½ tbsp
- Green chilli – 1 [finely chopped]
- Curry leaves – 1 spring
- Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
- Oil – 1 tbsp
Method
- In a bowl add gram flour, rava, salt, sugar, curd, water mix well to get smooth batter [idli batter consistency].
- Then leave it for 10 min
- Add ginger& green chilli paste, lemon juice, mix well & leave it for fermentation [apr. for 5 hours, for instant dhokla add eno fruit salt].
- Or you can make instant dhokla using Eno fruit salt.
- For instant dhokla:- Add 1 tsp eno fruit salt, gently mix the batter
- Grease steamer plate with 1 tbsp of oil.
- Pour batter, place it in a idli cooker/ steamer, cover it & cook for 10 to 15 min in medium flame. [For pressure cooker don’t put whistle].
- For seasoning: Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds & let its splutter. Then add cumin seeds, green chilli, curry leaves, red chilli powder & cut off heat. Then add 3 tbsp of water.
- Add seasoned ingredients in to steamed gram flour cake & cut into desired shapes & serve with green chutney.
How to make Instant besan dhokla-Step by step photos[Simple, Easy]
In a bowl seive gram flour [besan]
Add salt
Add sugar
Add rava [semolina]
Add curd
Add water
Mix well without lumps
batter ready, keep it aside for 10 min
Add gigner, green chilli
Add lemon juice
Grease pan with 1 tbsp oil
Add Eno fruit salt
Add water
Gently mix
Batter ready
Pour into pan
Ready to steam
Place it in idli cooker/ steamwe, steam it for 15 min on medium flame
After 15 min , stick comes out clean, now its ready
Remove edges, de-mold
Tempwering:Oil, mustard, cumin, ginger, green chilli, hing, curry leaves, coriander
Add 2 tbsp water, pour over dhokla
Sprinkle coconut
Slice & serve
