Peel off and boil field beans. Season with mustard seed, curry leaves. Add grated coconut for extra taste and aroma. As this beans is fresh it has all nutrition values and tastes too.

Ingredients

  • Raw Banana[vazhakkai, Kacha kela] -1 [Peel off the skin & cut into cubes]
  • Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
  • Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
  • Curry leaves – 1 spring
  • Bengal gram - 1/2 tbsp
  • Urad dal- 1/2 tbsp
  • Coconut - 1/4 cup
  • Garlic - 3 cloves[mash]
  • Coriander leaves -2 springs
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Water as needed

Method

  • Wash raw banana then slice.
  • Boil water, add raw banana slices, turmeric & Red chilli powder, let it boil till soft[1pr 8 min]
  • Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds & let it splutter then add bengal gram & urad dal.
  • Add garlic & curry leaves
  • Add boiled raw banana, salt, red chilli & turmeric powder saute for 3 min.
  • Add ground coconut & coriander leaves mix well then cut off heat.
  • Serve hot with rice.

Note

  • Don’t pressure cook Raw Banana.
