Cuisine Style: Srirangam, Tamil nadu, South India | Cooking Time: 5 minutes | To Serve: 2 | Take with: Chutney, jaggery, avial | Type: Breakfast or Dinner

Ingredients

  • Toor dal – 1 cup
  • Bengal gram – ¾ cup
  • Idli rice – 2 cup
  • Dry red chilli – 2
  • Cumin seeds – 1 tbsp
  • Garlic – 3 cloves
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as needed
  • Oil – 2 tbsp

Method

  • Wash and soak toor dal, Bengal gram and idli rice overnight.
  • Then drain water and coarsely grind with ¼ cup of water, dry red chilli, garlic, cumin seeds.
  • Then add salt mix well.
  • Then instantly make adai or leave it for fermentation for 2 hours.
  • Heat iron dosa tawa then pour batter & spread like a usual dosa shape.
  • Then pour 1 tbsp of oil around the adai, cover lid & cook both sides.
  • Once adai is ready serve hot with coconut chutney, idli podi, or grated jaggery.
