Thengai mangai pattani sundal-Marina beach sundal recipe


Cuisine Style: Tamil Nadu, South India | Cooking Time: 10 minutes | To Serve: 7 | Type: Sundal, Thoran, Stir fry

Ingredients

  • Dried green peas [Pachai pattani]- 1 cup
  • Raw mango – 3 tbsp [grated]
  • Coconut – 2 tbsp [grated]
  • Carrot – 2 tbsp [grated]
  • Ginger – 1 tbsp [finely chopped]
  • Green chilli – 1 [slit or chopped]
  • Curry leaves – 1 spring
  • Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
  • Coriander leaves – 2 springs [chopped]
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil – 1 tbsp
  • Water as needed [for boiling green peas]

Method

  • Wash & soak green peas overnight. Boil in a pressure cook for 4 whistles.
  • Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds, ginger, green chilli & curry leaves.
  • Add mango, carrot sauté gently for 5 sec. [Don’t overcook]
  • Add boiled green peas & salt mix well. Then add coconut mix well.
  • Sprinkle coriander leaves & cut off heat. Serve hot.
