How to make Pani varagu upma video


Ingredients

  • Panivaragu [Proso millet]– 2 cups
  • tomato - 1
  • Green peas - 1/4 cup
  • Potato - 1
  • Carrot - 1
  • Onion - 1
  • Ginger - 1 tbsp
  • Green chilli - 1
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
  • Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • Chana dal - 1 tsp
  • Urad dal - 1 tsp
  • Water – 4 1/2 cups
  • Oil - 1 tbsp

Method

  • Wash Pani varagu 2 to 3 times.
  • Heat oil in a pressure cooker, add mustard seeds, Bengal, gram, urad dal, ginger, Green chilli and curry leaves.
  • Add onion saute till soft
  • Add green peas, potato, carrot & tomato saute till soft
  • Add turmeric, red chilli powder saute
  • Add panivaragu mixture and add salt mix well.
  • Add water, cover lid, cook for 3 whistles
  • Once its ready, add coriander leaves, Serve hot with pickle.
