How to make Pani varagu upma video
Ingredients
- Panivaragu [Proso millet]– 2 cups
- tomato - 1
- Green peas - 1/4 cup
- Potato - 1
- Carrot - 1
- Onion - 1
- Ginger - 1 tbsp
- Green chilli - 1
- Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
- Chana dal - 1 tsp
- Urad dal - 1 tsp
- Water – 4 1/2 cups
- Oil - 1 tbsp
Method
- Wash Pani varagu 2 to 3 times.
- Heat oil in a pressure cooker, add mustard seeds, Bengal, gram, urad dal, ginger, Green chilli and curry leaves.
- Add onion saute till soft
- Add green peas, potato, carrot & tomato saute till soft
- Add turmeric, red chilli powder saute
- Add panivaragu mixture and add salt mix well.
- Add water, cover lid, cook for 3 whistles
- Once its ready, add coriander leaves, Serve hot with pickle.
How to make Pani varagu upma- With pictures
Pani varagu / Proso millet
Add panivaragu
Wash 2 to 3 times
Soak it for 5 min
Heat pressure cooker, add mustard, chana dal, urad dal, hing, curry leaves & green chilli
Add onion saute till soft
Add ginger
Add potato, green peas, beans, carrot & turmeric, red chilli powder
Add tomato, saute till soft
Add panivaragu
Mix well
Add water
Add salt
Cover lid, cook for 3 whistles
After 3 whistles
Add coriander leaves
Gently mix
Perfect panivaragu vegetable upma ready
