How to make Moongdal khichdi video
Ingredients
- Moong dal– 3/4 cup
- Rice – 1 cup
- Cumin seeds – ½ tbsp
- Garlic – 2 cloves
- Ginger - 1 tbsp
- Curry leaves - 1 spring
- Green chilli -1
- Tomato - 1
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Red chilli powder - 1/4 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Ghee – 2 tbsp
- Oil – 1 tbsp
Method
- Wash moong dal and rice, soak it for 30 min
- Heat pressure cooker , add ghee & oil
- Add cumin seeds let it splutter
- Add ginger, garlic, green chilli, curry leaves, onion saute.
- Add tomato, turmeric & red chilli powder saute till soft.
- Then add moong dal, rice, 5 cups water & salt
- Cover lid and cook for 3 to 4 whistles.
- Serve hot with ghee

Take moong dal & rice
Wash & soak it for 30 min
Heat pressure cooker, add ghee, oil, cumin seeds
Add onion, curry leaves, garlic, & ginger
Add tomato
Add turmeric powder
Add asafoetida
Add rice & moong dal
Add salt
Add red chilli powder
Saute well
Add water
Let it boil, cover lid, & cook for 4 whistles
Moong dal khichdi ready, serve hot with ghee
