Lemon sago upma | Lemon tapioca [sabudana] upma | Elumichai javvarisi upma

Ingredients
- Sago [big] – 1 cup
- Carrot – 2 tbsp [grated]
- Coconut – 2 tbsp [grated]
- Onion – 1 [finely chopped]
- Green chilli -1 [sliced]
- Ginger – 1 tbsp [finely chopped]
- Curry leaves – 1 spring
- Coriander leaves – 2 springs
- Lemon juice – 2 tbsp
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
- Cumin seeds – ½ tbsp
- Bengal gram – 1 tbsp
- Urad dal – 1 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Oil – 2 tbsp
Method
- Wash and soak sago overnight. Then drain water.
- Heat oil in a pan then add mustard seeds. Once it’s spluttered then add Bengal gram, urad dal and cumin seeds.
- Add onion sauté till soft. Then add green chilli, ginger and curry leaves
- Add coconut, carrot and turmeric powder sauté gently. Add sago and sprinkle salt mix well.
- Once sago cooked add lemon juice mix well & cut off heat.
- Sprinkle coriander leaves then serve hot.
