Chickpea vada fritters | Kondakadalai masala vadai-How to make-Step by step photos & Video

Ingredients
- Chickpea[Kondakadalai, chana]– 1 cup
- Samabr Onion – 3 [chopped]
- Green chilli – 2
- Garlic – 4 cloves [chopped]
- Fennel seeds – 1 tbsp
- Cumin seeds – ½ tbsp
- Coriander leaves – 3 springs or 4 tbsp [finely chopped]
- Curry leaves – 1 spring
- Coconut - 2 tbsp [grated]
- Salt to taste
- Oil for deep frying [ground nut oil or sunflower oil]
Preparation Method
- Wash & soak chickpeas for 8 hours. Then wash & drain water completely.
- Add fennel seeds, cumin seeds, garlic coarsely grind.
- Add green chiili, coriander leaves, curry leaves, in the same mixer jar then coarsely grind
- Then add chickpeas, coconut, salt in the same mixer jar & coarsely grind [ Don’t add water]
- Then transfer mixture to a bowl amix well.
- Divide the mixture into equal size balls then flatten.
- Heat enough oil in a pan deep fry both sides till golden brown & crisp on medium hot oil.
- Then drain on absorbent paper & serve hot with tea or coffee.

Soak chickpeas overnight
Add cumin, fennel seeds, garlic in a mixer jar coarsely grind
Add curry leaves, coriander leaves, green chilli grind again
Add soaked chickpeas & salt
Add sambar onion, coconut, coarsely grind with out water
Chickpea vada mixture is ready
/Make equal size balls out off the mixture
Flatten and shape vada
Heat oil put raw vada, deep fry till crisp and golden brown
Now chana vada is ready, remove from oil, drain on absorbent paper
