Paal kozhukattai | Milk kolukattai | Rice flour dumplings in milk-Authentic tamilnadu style-Video

Ingredients
- Rice flour [Arisi maavu, Chawal ka atta] – 1 cup
- Brown sugar – ¼ cup to ½ cup
- Milk- 1 ½ cup
- Saffron – a pinch
- Green cardamom – 3 or cardamom powder – ½ tsp
- Coconut – 2 tbsp [grated]
- Salt a pinch
- Water as needed
Method
- Boil water.
- In a bowl, add rice flour, pinch of salt mix well then slowly add boiled water mix well & make soft & non sticky dough
- Divide the dough into equal size balls
- Then place each balls in your palm then roll it with another palm & make small oval shaped kolukattai.
- Heat ¼ cup water in a pan add prepared oval shaped kolukattai then add milk let it boil
- Add saffron, sugar & cardamom powder mix well & & let it thickens
- Finally add grated coconut then cut off heat & serve immediately.
Tip
- You can make pal kolukattai using coconut milk, condensed milk or almond & cashew nut mixture.
- For another variation:- You can use ragi flour, bajra flour, red rice flour or thinai maavu
- You can add ghee roasted & chopped nuts
- You can use grated jaggery or white sugar.
- For jaggery variation-Make kolukattai-melt jaggery-cook with jaggery-then finally add coconut milk
