Ingredients[For dough]

  • Rice flour –1 cup
  • Ghee - 2 tbsp
  • Groundnut oil as needed
  • Water as needed

For Filling/Stuffing

  • Chana dal[Bengal gram, kadalai paruppu] - 3/4 cup
  • Jaggery – ½ cup
  • Coconut – ½ Cup [Grated]
  • Salt a pinch
  • Cardamom powder - 1 tbsp

Method

  • Wash & soak chana dal for 2 hours. Then drain water cook till soft.
  • Add pinch of salt, coconut saute for 2 min
  • Add jaggery mix well till it thickens. Add cardamom powder, cut off heat.
  • In a bowl add rice flour & water mix well till dosa batter consistency.
  • Heat pan, pour rice flour mixture, stir continuously till you get soft smooth dough
  • Divide the dough into equal size balls. Then make cup shape
  • Add lemon size portion of chana dal stuffing mixture & shape into a ball again.
  • Then roll out in to circle shape again.
  • Heat iron dosa tawa then place stuffed poli, drizzle 1 tbsp ghee/oil cook for 2 min.
  • Flipover and cook another side.
  • Then cut off heat serve.
