Rice Obbattu | Rice flour poli-How to make-Step by step photos & Video

Ingredients[For dough]
- Rice flour –1 cup
- Ghee - 2 tbsp
- Groundnut oil as needed
- Water as needed
For Filling/Stuffing
- Chana dal[Bengal gram, kadalai paruppu] - 3/4 cup
- Jaggery – ½ cup
- Coconut – ½ Cup [Grated]
- Salt a pinch
- Cardamom powder - 1 tbsp
Method
- Wash & soak chana dal for 2 hours. Then drain water cook till soft.
- Add pinch of salt, coconut saute for 2 min
- Add jaggery mix well till it thickens. Add cardamom powder, cut off heat.
- In a bowl add rice flour & water mix well till dosa batter consistency.
- Heat pan, pour rice flour mixture, stir continuously till you get soft smooth dough
- Divide the dough into equal size balls. Then make cup shape
- Add lemon size portion of chana dal stuffing mixture & shape into a ball again.
- Then roll out in to circle shape again.
- Heat iron dosa tawa then place stuffed poli, drizzle 1 tbsp ghee/oil cook for 2 min.
- Flipover and cook another side.
- Then cut off heat serve.

Rice flour [arisi maavu]
Soaked chana dal
Jaggery[Vellam-in tamil, gud in hindi]
Grated coconut, ghee, cardamom powder
Groundnut oil
Boil chana dal till soft
Add pinch of salt
Add grated coconut saute for 2 min
Add jaggery cook till it thickens
Mash well
Add cardamom powder, cut off heat
Add rice flour
Add water, mix well till dosa batter consistency
Now its ready
Heat rice flour batter
Stir continuously till you get smooth dough
Rice flour dough ready
Take lemon size portion of dough
Make cup shape
Cup shape ready
Add chana dal jaggery stuffing, close the edges, make ball shape again
Rollout into thick circle shape
Heat iron dosa tawa, pour 1 tbsp oil, cook both side
