Moong dal burfi-How to make-Step by step photos

Ingredients
- Moong dal– 1 cup
- Sugar - 3/4 cup to 1 cup
- Rava[semolina]- 3 tbsp
- Cardamom powder -1 tbsp
- Almonds, Cashewnut & raisins – 2 tbsp
- Ghee - 1/2 cup
Method
- Wash and soak moong dal for 2 hours
- Then drain water, coarsely or finely grind without water.
- Heat 2 tbsp ghee in a pan add almonds, cashews roast till light brown.
- In the same pan add 1/2 cup ghee, add rava roast for 2 min.
- Then add ground moong dal mixture, saute for 5 min or saute till raw smell out from the mixture
- Add sugar mix well, cook till the mixture thickens or the mixture starts leaving the pan.
- Add cardamom powder & roasted nuts and raisins..
- Once the mixture start leaving the pan then cut off heat.
- Transfer this to ghee greased tray, evenly spread, sprinkle almond slices, let it set [in room temperature or in refrigerator]
- Then cut into diamond shape, store in an airtight container. Use it for 3 days
Tips
- You can cook moong dal with 1 cup of milk.
- Replace white sugar with jaggery or brown sugar.
- You can add saffron for colour.
- You can add instant badam powder for thickness.

How to make Moong dal burfi-Stepwise pictures
Put soaked moong dal in a mixer jar, coarsely or finely grind
Moong dal mixture ready
Heat pan ,add 1/2 cup ghee, 3 tbsp rava roast for 2 min
Add ground moong dal mixture, cook for 5 min on low to medium flame
Add ghee in the middle
Add sugar, let it cook till it thickens
Let it melt
Cook with moong dal mixture
Moong dal mixture thick and starts leaving the pan
Add ghee
Add cardamom powder
Add roasted nuts
Now its ready, cut off heat
Place moong dal mixture into the tray
Evenly spread
Sprinkle almond slices, let it set for 30min then cut into desired shapes
Healthy moong dal bars ready, store in an airtight container refrigerate
