How to make Naripayaru / Moth beans sundal video
Ingredients
- Moth beans sundal [Naripayau] – 1 cup
- Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tbsp
- Red chilli powder – ½ tbsp
- Coconut – ¼ cup [grated]
- Curry leaves – 1 spring
- Coriander leaves – 3 tbsp [chopped]
- Green chilli - 1
- Salt to taste
- Asafoetida -1/4 tsp
- Garlic - 3 cloves
- Oil –1 tbsp
Preparation
- Wash & soak moth beans overnight or 8 hours
- Boil with turmeric, red chilli powder & salt
- Heat pan with oil add mustard seeds, garlic, asafoetida, green chilli, curry leaves, saute
- Add boiled moth beans & salt sautefor 2 min
- Add grated coconut, coriander mix well & cut off heat then serve hot with rice.
How to make Moth bean sundal / Naripayaru sundal- Step by step photos
In a bowl add 1 cup moth beans
Add water wash 2 to 3 times
Soak overnight or 8 hours
After 8 hours
Drain water
Heat pan, add soaked moth beans
add water
Boil
Add turmeric, red chilli powder, boil till soft
boiled moth beans ready
Heat 1 tbsp oil, mustard, garlic, curry leaves, coconut ,green chilli, asafoetida
Add moth beans
Add salt, saute for 2 min
Add coriander leaves, cut off heat
Transfer to a serving bowl
Add grated coconut, serve hot with tea / coffee / evening / morning snack
