Ingredients

  • Semiya [Vermicelli] -1 cup [Roasted or plain]
  • Ghee [melted butter] – 3 tbsp
  • Milk-1 ½ to 2 cups
  • Sugar- ¼ cup
  • Cardamom powder – ½ tbsp
  • Raisins - 7
  • Almonds -5
  • Cashew Nut - 4
  • Pistachio - 5
  • Water – ¼ cup

Preparation

  • Heat ghee in a pan then roast cashew nuts, raisins, pistachio & almonds keep it aside.
  • In the same pan add roasted semiya sauté for 3 sec then add milk, water, & let it boil & wait milk becomes slightly thick. Then add sugar mix well.
  • Finally add cardamom powder, and then cut off heat.
  • Add ghee roasted cashew nut, raisins and almonds slices. Serve hot or cold.

Tip

  • For another variation of semiya payasam use condensed milk or jaggery
