Ingredients

  • Kambu maavu [Pearl millet flour, Bajra flour] – 1 cup
  • Water – ¾ to 1 cup
  • Jaggery – ½ cup [grated]
  • Cardamom powder – ½ tbsp
  • Coconut - ½ cup [grated]
  • Raisins[Kismiss, Ularndha Dhirakshai] – 2 tbsp
  • Brown sugar – 1 tbsp [for garnishing]

Method

  • For poornam stuffing: - In a bowl add grated coconut, chopped raisins, jaggery, & cardamom powder mix well & keep it aside.
  • For outer shell: - In a bowl, take pearl millet flour with water make it dosa batter consistency without lumps.
  • Heat Pan, Pour batter and stir continuously and cut off heat when it becomes soft chapathi dough consistency.
  • Divide the dough into equal size balls. Then grease finger with gingelly oil or ghee.
  • Give pressure at the center, rotate and make it bowl shape.
  • Fill with Poornam. Fold & Seal it and you would get half circle shape. Use knife and make designs for the edge.
  • Steam it in an idli cooker for 5 min. Then serve hot.
