Ingredients
- Barley – 1 cup
- Onion – 1 [sliced]
- Tomato – 1 [finely chopped]
- Green chilli – 1 [slit]
- Ginger – 1 tbsp [finely chopped]
- Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
- Bengal gram – 1 tbsp
- Urad dal – 1 tbsp
- Curry leaves – 1 spring
- Coriander leaves – 2 springs
- Salt to taste
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Water – 3 cups
Preparation
- Dry roast Barley.
- Heat oil in a pressure cooker add mustard seeds & let it splutter. Add Bengal gram, urad dal sauté gently then add onion sauté till soft.
- Add ginger, green chilli, curry leaves. Then add tomato sauté till soft.
- Add water & salt mix well & let it boil. Then add Barley mix & well then cover it and cook for 4 to 5 whistles.
- Then add coriander leaves mix well and serve hot with coconut chutney, pickle or chips.
