Vermicelli Upma | Semiya upma | Nylon semiya upma [Tamil Nadu Style]

Ingredients
- Nylon semiya[Vermicelli] – 1 ½ cup
- Tomato – 1 [chopped]
- Carrot -1 [cut in to small cubes]
- Green capsicum- ½ [cut in to small cubes]
- Onion -1[sliced]
- Ginger-1 tbsp [finely chopped]
- Green chilli -1 [sliced]
- Curry leaves-1 spring
- Coriander leaves – 2 tbsp [chopped]
- Bengal gram – 1 tbsp
- Urad dal – 1 tbsp
- Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
- Asafoetida a pinch
- Turmeric powder- ½ tsp
- Oil – 3 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Water – ½ cup
Preparation
- Heat oil in a pan then add mustard seeds. Once its spluttered add Bengal gram, urad dal and add chopped onion sauté well then add ginger, green chilli, curry leaves, tomato, carrot and green capsicum then sauté gently.
- Add ½ cup of water and salt mix well and bring it to boil.
- Once water is boiled add semiya and mix well. Cover it and cook. Once moisture out from semiya cut off heat sprinkle coriander leaves cover it and leave it for 2 min.
- Serve hot with coconut chutney.
