Milagai chutney | Chilli onion chutney-How to make-video

Ingredients
- Dry red chilli [Sigappu milagai, Vara Milagai] – 5
- Small Onion[Shallots, chinna vengayam]– 10 [peeled,washed]
- Garlic – 1 cloves
- Curry leaves - 1 spring
- Brown sugar/ white sugar or jaggery - 1/2 tbsp
- Tamarind – 1 inch
- Water – 4 tbsp [Optional]
- Salt to taste
For seasoning [optional]
- Mustard seeds - 1 tbsp
- Curry leaves - 1 spring
- Sesame Oil - 1 tbsp
Method
- In a mixer jar or stone mortar pestle add dry red chilli, onion, curry leaves, garlic, brown sugar, salt & tamarind then coarsely grind.
- Then add water finely grind.
- Transfer freshly ground mixture to a bowl
- For seasoning:- Heat sesame oil in a pan add mustard seeds, curry leaves.
- Add ground mixture mix well then serve with idli, uthappam & dosa.
