Ingredients
- Groundnut [Peanut, verkadali] – 1/2 cup
- Dry red chilli [Sigappu milagai, Vara Milagai]– 3
- Garlic – 4 cloves
- Curry leaves - 1 spring
- Coconut - 3 tbsp
- Tamarind – 1 inch piece
- Water as needed
- Salt to taste
For seasoning [optional]
- Mustard seeds - 1 tbsp
- Curry leaves - 1 spring
- Asafetida - 1/4 tsp
- Sesame Oil - 1 tbsp
Method
- Dry roast groundnut then peel off the skin.
- Heat oil in a pan add garlic, dry red chilli, coconut & tamarind roast till light brown
- Put roasted ingredients & ground nut finely grind.
- For seasoning:- Heat sesame oil in a pan add mustard seeds, curry leaves & asafetida.
- Add seasoned ingredients to the ground mixture mix well then serve with idli, uthappam & dosa.

Heat pan add groundnut, roast
Now its ready, cut off heat,let it cool, peel off the skin
Heat oil in a pan , add garlic & dry red chilli
Add Coconut, roast till light brown
Add Tamarind & salt
Add roasted groundnut
Add roasted ingredients, grind with 1/2 glass of water
For seasoning:-Add 1 tbsp oil, mustard seeds, curry leaves & asafetida
Add seasoned ingredients
Groundnut chutney is ready, serve with idli, dosa or uthappam
