Green gram Poha Vada | Pachai payaru aval vadai

Ingredients
- Green gram [Pachai payaru] – 1 cup
- Poha [Avul, beaten rice flakes]– ½ cup
- Curry leaves – 2 springs [finely chopped]
- Coriander leaves – 2 springs [finely chopped]
- Mint leaves -3 springs [chopped]
- Ginger – 1 inch cube
- Garlic – 2 cloves
- Asafetida [Hing] – ¼ tsp
- Fennel seeds -1 tbsp
- Dry red chilli - 2
- Salt to taste
- Oil – for deep frying
Preparation
- Wash & soak Green gram overnight or 6 hours. Then wash & drain water.
- Put green gram, dry red chilli, fennel seeds, garlic, ginger, salt & asafetida in a mixer jar& coarsely grind [don’t add water] then transfer this mixture to a bowl.
- Add curry leaves, coriander leaves & poha mix gently.
- Shape balls then flatten & deep fry till golden brown & crispy.
- Serve hot with tea or coffee.
