Tomato bath recipe karnataka style

Ingredients
- Basmati rice – 2 cup
- Water – 2 ½ cup
- Tomato – 4 [chopped]
- Onion – 1 [sliced]
- Green chilli – 1 [slit]
- Mint leaves - 6
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
- Garam masala powder – ½ tsp
- Cardamom – 3
- Cloves -3
- Cinnamon – 1
- Bay leaves – 1
- Star anise -1/2
- Fennel seeds – 1 tbsp
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Butter – 1 inch cube
- Salt to taste
For grinding
- Mint leaves – 1 cup
- Green chilli – ½
- Garlic – 4 cloves
- Ginger – 1 tbsp [chopped]
- Put all ingredients in mixer jar then grind to fine paste with 3 tbsp of water.
Method
- Heat oil and butter in a pan then add cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, bay leaves, star anise, cashew nuts and fennel seeds then add onion sauté till soft.
- Add dry red chilli, green chilli and tomato sauté till soft. Then add ground paste mix well.
- Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and garam masala powder mix well.
- Add water and salt mix well& let it boil.
- When boiling add basmati rice, butter cover it & cook for 4 whistles. Garnish with mint leaves then serve hot with raita
