Chola paniyaram | Yellow sorghum paniyaram | Jowar paddu[Gundponglu] recipe

Ingredients
- Yellow grain sorghum [Manjal Cholam, solam, Jowar]- 2 cups
- Urad dal – ½ cup
- Rice flour - 3 tbsp
- Jaggery [grated] - 2 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Oil - 2 tbsp
- Water as needed
Preparation Method
- Wash and soak yellow sorghum, urad dal, and fenugreek seeds separately overnight. Then drain water.
- In a grinder add yellow sorghum & grind to nice batter with enough water.
- Then add urad dal & grind to smooth batter with enough water.
- Transfer both batter to a container then add sea salt / normal salt then mix well cover it and leave it for fermentation (approximately 8 hours).
- Then add rice flour, & jaggery mix well
- Heat paniyaram tawa (Iron casting tastes better than other material) & grease with oil then pour batter. Cover lid and cook for 2 min.
- Flip over and pour 1 tbsp of oil around the paniyaram then again cook for 2 min.
- Cut off heat. Then transfer to serving plate. Serve hot with coconut chutney
