Carrot onion chutney | Carrot vengaya chutney

Ingredients
- Carrot – 2
- Onion – 1 [sliced]
- Dry red chilli [Sigappu milagai, Vara Milagai]–1 or 2
- Garlic – 3 cloves
- Tamarind – 1 inch piece
- Bengal gram[Chana dal, kadalai paruppu] – 1 tbsp
- Urad dal – 1 tbsp
- Water as needed
- Salt to taste
For seasoning [optional]
- Mustard seeds - 1 tbsp
- Curry leaves - 1 spring
- Oil - 1 tbsp
Method
- Heat oil in a pan add bengal gram, urad dal, garlic, dry red chilli, saute till light brown
- Then add onion, carrot, tamarind & salt saute
- Put roasted ingredients in a mixer jar fine grind with 1/2 glass of water
- For seasoning:- Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds, & curry leaves
- Add seasoned ingredients to the ground mixture mix well then serve with idli, uthappam & dosa.
