Potato cheese rice balls | Rice cheese balls

Main Ingredients
- Rice – 1 cup [boiled]
- Potato -1 [boiled, mashed]
- Bread crumbs – ¼ cup
- Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
- Garam masala – ½ tsp
- Cheese – 1 slice or 1 cube
- Corn flour – 5 tbsp
- Lemon juice – 1 tbsp
- Water as needed
- Salt to taste
- Oil for deep frying
For Grinding Ingredients
- Onion – 1 [Chopped]
- Green chilli - 1
- Ginger – ½ tbsp [chopped]
- Garlic – 2 [Cloves]
- Coriander leaves – 2 springs
- Salt – ½ tsp
- Put all these ingredients in a mixer jar coarsely grind
Preparation
- In a bowl add boiled rice, mashed potato, ground green chutney, garam masala, red chilli powder, bread crumbs, corn flour & salt mix well
Then add lemon juice mix well, make soft dough. - You can keep it in the refrigerator for 25 minutes to avoid stickiness while making balls or you can instantly deep fry.
- Make lemon size ball out of the mixture.
- Depress the centre of the ball and fill cheese & make ball again by closing all the edges
- In a bowl add corn flour, water, & salt mix well
- Dip each ball in the corn flour mixture & roll it in breadcrumbs.
- Make sure all the sides are coated with breadcrumbs equally.
- Heat enough oil in a pan then put prepared balls & deep fry till crisp & golden brown on medium hot oil.
- Once its ready remove from oil, drain on absorbent paper.
- Serve hot with tomato sauce, chilli sauce or green chutney
Tip
- You can add finely chopped vegetables in filling mixture
- you can replace corn flour with rice flour for crispiness
- You can make cutlet/tikkis/pattis using this mixture.
- You can replace rice with brown rice, red rice, millets, boiled chickpeas, red beans or semolina
- Dont fry these balls in high flame
