Ingredients

  • Maida or Wheat flour –1 cup
  • Curd - 1/2 cup
  • Baking soda / Powder -1/2 tsp
  • Powdered sugar - 1/4 cup
  • Ghee - 3 tbsp
  • Cardamom powder - 1 tsp
  • Water as required
  • Oil for deep frying

For Sugar syrup

  • Sugar - 3/4 cup
  • Water as required
  • Cardamom powder - 1 tsp

Preparation Method

  • In a bowl add maida, baking soda, ghee, powdered sugar, curd &water mix well, make soft sticky mixture.
  • Cover it & leave it for 30 min.
  • Heat sugar, cardamom powder & water, let it boil for 8 min[Like gulab jmaun syrup] or you can boil till 1 string consistency.
  • Heat oil in a pan, make small balls out of the mixture, drop it in medium hot oil, deep fry till golden brown
  • Drain on absorbent paper then put it in sugar syrup & soak it for 5 min.
  • Then serve with tea or coffee
