How to make Nellikai rice video
Ingredients
- Rice – 1 cup
- Nellikai [Gooseberry, Amla] – 1 cup or ½ mango[grated]
- Ginger – 1 tbsp [finely chopped]
- Green chilli – 1 [slit]
- Curry leaves – 1 spring
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
- Bengal gram – 1 tbsp
- Urad dal – 1 tbsp
- Asafetida a pinch
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed.
Preparation Method
- Grate gooseberry keep it aside
- Boil rice & spread over the plate to cool.
- Heat pan, pour oil and put mustard seed & let it splutter.
Then add Bengal gram, urad dal, green chilli, turmeric powder, asafetida and curry leaves sauté. - Add grated gooseberry sauté. Then add cooked rice, salt & mix well.
- Cut off heat serve hot with pickle.

Heat oil, add mustard seeds, chana dal & urad dal
Add roasted groundnut
Add ginger[Inji]
Add asafetida
Add turmeric powder
Add grated nellikai[amla]
Saute for a min
Add boiled basmati rice & salt, mix well
Add sesame oil, mix well, cut off heat
Indian gooseberry rice ready, serve with pickle or chips
