Aloo Tikki | Potato cutlet | potato patties-How to make-Step by step photos

Main Ingredients
- Potato -4 [boiled, mashed]
- Bread crumbs – ¼ cup
- Grenn chilli -1 tbsp[finely chopped or mashed]
- Ginger & garlic - 1 tbsp [finely chopped]
- Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
- Garam masala powder– 1tsp
- Corn flour –¼ cup
- Salt to taste
- Oil for deep frying
Preparation
- Boil potato, let it cool then mash without lumps.
- In a bowl add mashed potato, salt, red chilli pwoder, garam masala powder, corn flour, gigner garlic and green chilli mix well.
- Add 3 tbsp bread crumbs mix well
- You can keep it in the refrigerator for 25 minutes to avoid stickiness while making balls or you can instantly deep fry.
- Make lemon size ball out of the mixture.
- Flatten & shape cutlet
- sprinkle corn flour over the cutlet, coat well.
- In a bowl add 3 tbsp corn flour, water mix well & make flowing consistency batter
- Dip each cutlet in the corn flour mixture & roll it in breadcrumbs.
- Make sure all the sides are coated with breadcrumbs equally.
- Heat enough oil in a pan then put prepared raw cutlet & deep fry till crisp & golden brown on medium hot oil.
- Or you can shallow fry in dosa tawa.
- Once it’s ready remove from oil, drain on absorbent paper.
- Serve hot with chilli sauce or green chutney
Tips & Notes
- You can add finely chopped vegetables in filling mixture
- you can replace corn flour with rice flour for crispiness
- You can make balls, croquettes using this mixture.
- You can replace potato with sweet potato, raw banana, chickpeas or semolina
- Dont fry these cutlet in high flame
- You can shallow fry cutlets
- Mixture is sticky add more bread crumbs, corn flour or refrigerate

How to make Aloo tikki / Potato cutlet-Stepwise pictures
In a bowl add mashed potato, salt mix well
Add corn flour
Add red chilli powder
Add garam masala powder
Add bread crumbs mix well
Add gigner, garlic & green chilli
Mix well
Make balls
Flatten
Coat with corn flour
Raw aloo tikki ready
Dip with corn flour water mixture
Cover with breadcrumbs
Raw aloo tikki with breadcrumbs ready
Heat enough oil in a pan, put raw aloo tikki
Deep fry till crisp and golden brown
Flip over, cook both sides
Now its ready, remove it from oil
Crispy outside and soft inside aloo tikki ready
Serve hot with toamto chilli sauce, or you can place it on chapathi or bread, burger etc
