Ingredients
- Veppam poo [Neem flower] – 3 springs
- Tamarind juice – 2 tbsp
- Tomato – 1
- Curry leaves – 1 spring
- Green & dry red chilli – 1
- Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
- Cumin seeds – ½ tbsp
- Cumin, coriander, pepper powder – 1 tbsp
- Sugar or jaggery a pinch
- Salt to taste
- Asafetida a pinch
- Ghee -1 tbsp
- Oil – 1 tbsp
- Water as needed
Preparation Method
- Wash and soak tomato & tamarind in warm water for 5 min. Then mash well with hands & drain the skin & extract water.
- Heat pan with oil add mustard seeds & let it splutter. Then add cumin seeds.
- Add garlic, dry red chilli, neem flower & curry leaves sauté.
- Add tomato with tamarind mixed water then add asafetida, turmeric powder, salt, cumin and pepper powder mix well & let it boil.
- When boiling then add sugar turn off heat.
- Heat another pan then add ghee & 2 tbsp neem flower sauté or fry.
- Sprinkle sautéed neem flower & Serve hot with rice.
