Vazhakkai bajji | Raw banana bajji -How to make-Step by step photos

Ingredients
- Vazhakkai[Raw banana, kacha kela] - 2
- Besan [gram flour, kadalai maavu] – 3/4 cup
- Rice flour – 1/4 cup
- Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder- ¼ tsp
- Asafetida a pinch
- Ginger & garlic paste - 1 tbsp [or finely chopped]
- Oil - 1 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed
- Oil for deep frying
Preparation Method
- Wash & slice green banana
- Slice lengthwise or thinly slice like circles
- Add gram flour, rice flour, salt, asafetida, red chilli & turmeric powder then add water mix well & make batter without lumps
- Add 1 tbsp of oil into gram flour batter for crispiness & fluffy
- Heat oil in a pan, dip green banana slices into the prepared batter, drop it in hot oil, deep fry till crisp & golden brown both sides on medium hot oil
- Once its ready remove from oil, drain on absorbent paper & serve hot with tea or coffee.
Notes and tips
- For easy digestion use ginger garlic paste.
- For tangy flavour use lemon juice, curd & green chilli.
- You can use rich red colour-Soak kashmiri red chilli in hot water then grind and add
- You can use corn flour also
- For fluffy batter add baking soda or baking powder.
- You can add ground onion, garlic paste for unique flavour.

Take 4 green banana
Perfect vazhakkai
In a bowl add besan, rice flour, red chilli powder & turmeric powder
Add asafoetida
Add salt
Add ginger & garlic [optional, you can use ginger & garlic paste]
Add water, mix well & make smooth, light batter
Batter ready, keep it aside
Cut and remove edges
Thinly slice
Dip in besan batter
Heat oil, drop it
Deep fry till crisp and golden brown
Flip over fry both sides
Now its ready
Remove it from oil
Super crispy
Fry circle shape raw banana
