Ingredients

  • Thatta payaru [Cow pea] – 1 cup
  • Onion - 1 [chopped]
  • Garlic – 4 cloves
  • Ginger – 1 tbsp
  • Curry leaves – 1 spring
  • Coriander leaves – 2 springs
  • Green chilli - 1
  • Dry red chilli – 2
  • Cloves – 1
  • Cinnamon stick – ¼
  • Cumin seeds – ½ tbsp
  • Fennel seeds – 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for deep frying

Preparation Method

  • Wash & soak Thatta payaru for 8 hours. Then wash & drain water completely.
  • Add fennel seeds, cumin seeds, cloves, cinnamon stick, garlic & ginger coarsely grind.
  • Add green chiili, coriander leaves, curry leaves, & onion in the same mixer jar then coarsely grind
  • Then add thatta payaru, salt in the same mixer jar & coarsely grind [ Don’t add water]
  • Then transfer mixture to a bowl & mix well.
  • Divide the mixture into equal size balls then flatten.
  • Heat enough oil in a pan deep fry both sides till golden brown & crisp on medium hot oil.
  • Then drain on absorbent paper & serve hot with tea or coffee.
