Ingredients

  • Sweet corn - 1/2 cup
  • Potato - 2 [cut into cubes]
  • Onion – 1 [sliced]
  • Green chilli – 1 [slit]
  • Mustard seeds- 1 tbsp
  • Fennel seeds- 1 tsp
  • Bengal gram - 1 tbsp
  • Urad dal - 1 tbsp
  • Curry leaves -1 springs
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Water as needed

For grinding ingredients

  • Roasted gram[Chutney kadalai]- 1 tbsp
  • Coconut – 2 tbsp [grated or small pieces]
  • Green chilli -1
  • Ginger - 1 tbsp
  • Garlic - 4 cloves
  • Coriander leaves - 2 springs
  • Fennel- 1/2 stick
  • Cinnamon - 1/4
  • Cloves - 2
  • Pepper - 1tsp
  • Cardamom- 2
  • Add ingredients in a mixer jar, grind to fine paste

Method

  • Steam sweet corn and boil potato till soft.
  • Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds, fennel let it crackle.
  • Then add bengal gram, urad dal fry
  • Add onion, & curry leaves saute
  • Add boiled corn, potato, turmeric & red chilli powder saute.
  • Add freshly ground paste and water let it boil.
  • Serve hot with idli, dosa, chapathi, parotta
