Barley soup -How to make-Step by step photos

This is simple, one pot, and healthy evening/ morning soup for kids. .
You can add corn flour mixture, fresh cream, cheese or milk for extra flavour and thickness.
Ingredients
- Barley - 1 cup
- carrot - 1 [finely chopped]
- Onion - 1
- Green chilli -1
- Garlid, ginger - 1 tbsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Soya sauce - 1 tbsp
- green chilli sauce- 1 tbsp
- Red chilli sauce - 1tbsp
- Tomato sauce - 1 tbsp
- Soya sauce- 1 tbsp
- salt to taste
- Oil - 1 tbsp
- Butter - 1 tbsp
- corainder leaves - 2 tbsp
- Crushed pepper - 1 tsp
- Bay leaf - 1
- Corn flour - 1 tbsp
- Water as needed
Method
- Wash and soak barley for overnight or 8 hours
- Heat 1 tbsp butter in a pan add bayleaf, onion, ginger, garlic, green chilli saute till soft
- Add turmeric, carrot, coriander, barley, soya sauce, green chilli, red chilli sauce, tomato sauce
- Add water, salt boil
- Then cover lid, cook for 4 whistles
- In a bowl add corn flour, water mix well
- Add corn flour mixture boil for 3 min
- Add corainder, crushed pepper, cut off heat
- Serve hot with toasted bread cubes or croutons

Healthy barley soup
Take 1 cup barley
Wash and soak overnight or 8 hours
8 hours later, drain water
Soft barley ready
Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pressure cooker
Add 1 tbsp butter or ghee
Add bayleaf
Add ginger, garlic
Add green chilli
Add onion, carrot
Add turmeric, coriander
Add salt
Add soy sauce, tomato, red chilli, green chilli sauce
Add barley
Saute for 2 min
Add water, salt, mix well
In a bowl add corn flour, water mix well
Cover lid, cook for 4 to 5 whistles
Once its ready, remove steam, mix well
Perfectly cooked barley ready
add corn flour mixture
Add coriander pepper powder
Perfect barley veg soup ready
Transfer to a serving bowl
Add toasted bread cubes, croutons , serve hot
YOu can add milk or coconut milk for extra flavour
