Ingredients
- Chilli [Milagai, Mirchi]-5
- Besan [gram flour, kadalai maavu] – 1 cup
- Rice flour – 3 tbsp
- Rava - 2 tbsp
- Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder- ¼ tsp
- Asafoetida[Hing]- ¼ tsp
- Oil - 1 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed
- Oil – ¼ ltr [for frying]
For stuffing [Ingredients]
- Potato -3 [boiled]
- Ginger, garlic & green chilli paste -2 tbsp
- Onion - 3 tbsp [finely chopped]
- Corainder leaves - 2 spring [finely choped]
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- red chilli powder - ¼ tsp
- Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan, add hing, onion, ginger garlic paste, boiled potato, red chilli powder, turmeric powder & garam masala powder, salt & coriander leaves saute & mash.
Preparation Method
- Slit chilli lengthwise then remove seeds.
- Stuff chilli with prepared potato masala
- Add gram flour, rice flour, rava, salt, asafetida, red chilli & turmeric powder then add water mix well & make flowing consistency batter without lumps
- Add 1 tbsp of oil into gram flour batter for crispiness & fluffy
- Heat oil in a pan, dip stuffed chillis in the prepared batter, drop it in oil, deep fry till crisp & golden brown both sides on medium hot oil
- Once its ready remove from oil, drain on absorbent paper & serve hot with tea or coffee.

Easy & quich snack-Mirchi / Milagai stuffed bajji
Heat 2 tbsp oil
Add asafoetida-perungayam
Add onion
Add gigner, garlic & green chilli paste
Add red chilli powder
Add salt
Add turmeric powder
Add garam masala
Add boiled potato-3
Add coriander leaves
Add salt
Mash well
In a bowl add gram flour[besan, kadalai maavu]
Add rice flour[arisi maavu]
Add rava[semolina]
Add asafoetida
Add salt
Add red chilli powder [milagai podi]
Add turmeric powder [manjal podi]
Mix well dry ingredients
Add water
Mix well, make flowing consistency batter
Batter ready, keep it aside
Slit & remove chilli seeds
Stuff with potato masala
Potato Stuffed Chilli ready
Dip chilli in gram flour batter
Drop it in oil
Deep fry till and golden brown
Now its ready, remove it from oil
Place it on absorbent paper
Spicy stuffed chilli fry ready, serve hot with green chutney
