Ingredients

  • Kovakkai[Tindora, Dondakaya] - ¼ kg
  • Onion – 1 chopped
  • Garlic – 1 clove
  • Green chilli – 1 chopped
  • Curry leaves – 1 spring
  • Coconut – 3 tbsp [Grated]
  • Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
  • Red chili powder – ½ tsp
  • Garam masala powder – ½ tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground nut oil – 2 tbsp
  • Water as needed

Preparation

  • Heat pan add oil, add mustard seeds & let it splutter then add Bengal gram, & urad dal sauté.
  • Add onion & garlic sauté till soft.
  • Add green chilli, curry leaves sauté.
  • Add kovakkai, turmeric powder, red chilli powder sauté well.
  • Then add enough water cook for 4 min.
  • Add coconut & garam masala sauté well.
  • Then cut off heat & serve hot with rice.
