Ingredients

  • Beetroot -2 [Cut into small stripes]
  • Onion – 1 [chopped]
  • Coconut – ¼ cup [grated]
  • Green chilli – 1 [sliced]
  • Curry leaves – 1 spring
  • Mustard seed – 1 tbsp
  • Urad dal – ½ tbsp
  • Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
  • Red chilli powder – ½ tbsp
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as needed

Preparation

  • Heat oil in a pan add mustard seed let it crackle. Then add urad dal saute
  • and onion, garlic sauté till soft.
  • Add green chilli and curry leaves.
  • Add Beetroot saute.
  • Add turmeric powder and red chilli powder mix well.
  • Add enough water let it cook till soft [Apr.3 min]
  • Finally add coconut mix well. Cut off heat & serve hot with rice
