Ingredients
- Besan[Gram flour, kadalai maavu]-1 Cup
- Rice flour-2 tbsp
- Curd - 3 tbsp
- Ginger & green chilli paste - 1 tbsp
- Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Sguar - 1 tbsp
- Asafoetida[Hing, perungayam] - 1/4 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Water as required
Preparation Method
- In a bowl add besan, rice flour, curd, ginger & green chilli paste, salt, turmeric powder, red chillip owder, & asafoetida mix well.
- Add water, mix well, make smooth batter without lumps.
- Heat iron dosa tawa and grease with oil.
- Then pour ladle full of besan batter over the iron dosa tawa & spread the batter like a dosa (Round shape thin or thick).
- Then cover lid over it & cook for 2 minutes (medium flame).
- Sprinkle oil over the edges & Flip it & cook for 2 minutes.
- Then cut off heat & serve with coconut chutney.
How to make besan cheela- Step by step Pictures & procedure
In a bowl add besan, rice flour, red chilli, turmeric powder, asafoetida, mix well
Add water, mix well make smooth batter
add curd
add sugar
Add ginger and green chilli paste
Cover lid & leave it for 10 min
Pour over iron dosa pan / non-stick pan, pour 1 tbsp oil around the dosa
Flip over, cook another side
Now its ready, cut off heat
Remove it from pan
