Ingredients
- Urad dal - 1 cup
- Pepper -1 tbsp
- Curry leaves - 1 spring
- Hing -1/2 tsp
- Rice flour - 2 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Oil for deep frying
Preparation Method
- Wash & soak urad dal [black or white] for 8 hours. Then wash & drain water completely.
- Put it in a mixe jar, coarsely grind without water
- Transfer mixture to a bowl, add salt, rice flour, pepper, curry elaves mix well
- Divide the mixture into equal size balls then flatten.
- Heat enough oil in a pan deep fry both sides till golden brown & crisp on medium hot oil.
- Then drain on absorbent paper & serve hot with tea or coffee.

Soak overnight
8 hours later, drain water, completely
Put it in a mixie jar, add salt
Coarsely grind
Add rice flour
Add hing
Add peppercorns
Coarsely grind
Add curry leaves
Make dough
Divide into balls
Flatten
Make holes
Remove it from sheet
Drop it in oil, deeep fry until crisp and golden brown
Flip over cook both sides
Crispy , golden brown
Remove it from oil
Perfect crispiness
Perfect for tea/after school snack
Serve to god first then serve
