Ingredients
- Thinai arisi[Foxtail millet]– 1 cup
- Toor dal & green moong dal– ½ cup
- Sambar onion - 7
- Cumin seeds – ½ tbsp
- Garlic – 2 cloves
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Water as needed
For Seasoning
- Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
- Cumin seeds – ½ tbsp
- Peppercorns [optional] – 6
- Dry red chilli - 2
- Curry leaves – 1 spring
- Bengal gram – ½ tbsp
- Urad dal – ½ tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Oil – 2 tbsp
Preparation
- Wash toor dal, green moong dal & thinai arisi.
- In a pressure cooker put thinai arisi, green moong dal, toor dal, cumin seeds, garlic, sambar onion and turmeric powder. Then add 3 ¼ cup of water and cover it and cook for 4 whistles.
- For seasoning:- Heat pan with oil add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, Bengal, gram, urad dal, peppercorns, dry red chilli and curry leaves.
- Add seasoned ingredients in to cooked rice and add salt mix well.
- Serve hot with pickle.

Cover lid, cook for 3 whistles

Heat oil, add mustard, chana dal, urad dal, curry leaves, dry red chilli, hing
Add seasoned ingredients
Mix well
