Ingredients

  • Puffed rice[Pori] – 2 cup
  • Onion – 2 tbsp
  • Green chilli - 1
  • Ginger - 1 tbsp
  • Coconut - 1 tbsp [grated]
  • Carrot - 3 tbsp [Finely chopped]
  • Curry leaves - 1 spring
  • Coriander leaves – 2 springs [chopped]
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tbsp
  • Oil - 1.5 tbsp to 2 tbsp

Preparation

  • Heat pan, add puffed rice, roast till crisp.
  • Heat oil, add mustard, curry leaves, onion, ginger, green chilli, carrot, coconut,salt, turmeric & red chilli powder saute.
  • Add puffed rice mix well.
  • Add coraidner leaves then cut off heat.
  • Serve immediately

Tips and variations

  • Dont saute puffed rice for long time. It will lose crispiness
  • You can add roasted gram & peanuts.
  • You can add tomato, capsicum or cabbage
  • You can add chilli, toamto, soya sauce for different flavour
  • You can add sev, ribbon pakoda, fried papad, or chakli for more crispiness
