Nilakadalai murukku | Peanut chakli-How to make-Step by step photos

Ingredients
- Peanut[Groundnut, Nilakadalai]- 1/4 cup
- Garlic –4 cloves
- Dry red chilli – 2
- Rice flour -1/2 cup
- Gram flour - 1/4 cup
- Red chilli powder- 1 tbsp
- Turmeric powder- 1 tsp
- Cumin seeds- 1 tbsp
- Ghee - 1 tbsp
- Oil - 2 tbsp
- Oil for deep frying
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed
Preparation Method
- Dry roast peanut, let ti cool. Then peel off the skin.
- In a mixie jar add, roasted peanut, dry red chilli, cumin seeds, & garlic grind to fine paste.
- In a bowl add gram flour, rice flour, asafetida, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, cumin, groundnut paste, salt, & ghee mix well.
- Then add water mix well, knead it & make soft dough [It should be soft & non sticky].
- Add 1 tbsp oil over the dough, keep it aside.
- Heat enough oil in a pan, take murukku mould plate then place it in a muruku kuzhal.
- Fill the prepared dough in a muruku kuzhal [one handful] & just press out or squeeze over the ladle & deep fry till crisp on medium hot oil.
- Flip over & fry another side.
- Once it ready or the oil sound disappears then take it out & drain on absorbent paper.
- Leave it for room temperature [Apr. 2 min]. Then store in an airtight container

Dry roast peanuts
Peel off the skin
In a mixie jar, add roasted peanuts, cumin seeds, garlic, dry red chilli grind to fine paste
Ground peanut paste ready
In a bowl add rice flour, gram flour
Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder & 1 tbsp oil
Add asafoetida
Add salt
Add ghee, mix well
Add ground paste, mix well, make soft dough
Peanut murukku dough ready
Fill murukku kuzhal with peanut murukku dough
Check, if its too hard add water make smooth dough
Squeeze over the ladle
Heat oil, drop it
Deepfry till crisp
Now its ready, remove it from oil
