Raw Jackfruit biryani | Palakai pulav-How to make-Step by step photos & video

Ingredients
- Basmati rice – 2 cups
- Jackfruit seeds [palakottai] – 1 cup
- Tomato -2 [chopped]
- Onion – 1 [sliced]
- Fennel seeds – 1 tbsp
- Green cardamom - 3
- Cinnamon stick- 1
- Cloves - 4
- Bay leaves - 1
- marathi moggu -1
- Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Garam masala powder – 1 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Ghee – 2 tbsp
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Water –3 cups
For grinding[Ingredients]
- Green chilli -1
- Ginger - 1 inch piece
- Garlic - 5 cloves
- Mint leaves - 2 springs
- Coriander leaves - 2 springs
- Put all these ingredients in a mixer jar, coarsely grind
Preparation Method
- Pressure cook raw jackfruit seeds with salt, turmeric, red chilli powder
- Then peel off the skin, keep it aside
- Boil water, add raw jackfruit cubes, turmeric powder & red chilli powder cook till soft or 3/4th.
- Wash & soak basmati rice for ½ an hour.
- Heat oil & ghee in a pressure cooker, Add green cardamom, fennel seeds, cinnamon stick, marathi moggu, cloves, bay leaves, sauté.
- Then add onion sauté till light brown
- Add ground paste saute.
- Add tomato sauté, garam masala, red chilli & turmeric powder saute till soft.
- Then add boiled jackfruit seeds saute.
- Add basmati rice & salt mix well.
- Then add water, mix well, cover it & cook for 3 whistles in pressure cooker or cook for 10 mn in open pan.
- Sprinkle mint leaves & serve hot with salna kurma and raitha.

Add 2 cups of basmati rice
Wash and soak it for 15 min
In a mixie jar add ginger, garlic, green chilli
add mint & coriander leaves
Coarsely grind
Boiled jackfruit seeds
Heat 2 tbsp oil & 2 tbsp ghee
Add cinnamon, bay leaf, marathi moggu, cardamom, cloves & fennel
Add onion saute till light brown
Add ground mint coriander mixture
Add tomato saute till soft
Add turmeric, red chilli & garam masala powder
Add boiled jackfruit seeds
Add salt
Add 2 cups of basmati rice
Add salt if required
Add 3 cups of coconut milk
Let it boil
Cover lid, cook for 3 whistles
After 3 whistles, turn off flame
Perfect one pot biryani ready
gently mix
Healthy palakottai biryani ready, serve hot with raita
