Ingredients

  • Raw rice -1 cup
  • Moong dal - 1/4 cup
  • Karuppatti - 1.5 cup
  • Cardamom powder -1 tsp
  • CAshews, raisins -1 /4 cup
  • Water -5.5 cups
  • Ghee-4 tbsp

Preparation Method

  • Wash and soak raw rice, moong dal for 10 min
  • In a pressure cooker, add 4 cups of water, soaked rice, moong dal, ghee, cover lid, cook for 4 to 5 whistles
  • Then gently mash
  • Boil 1.5 cup karuppatti and 1.5 cup water, let it boil for 2 to 3 min
  • Add karuppatti syup, ghee mix well, let it cook for 3 to 5 min
  • Once its ready, add cardmaom powder, cut off heat
  • For sesoning: Add 2 tbsp ghee, cashews, raisins, roast until golden brown
  • Add roasted cashews, raisins, mix well then serve hot
