Ingredients
- Idli rice - 1cup
- Urad dal - 1/4 cup
- Pottukadalai - 2 tbsp
- Ajwain - 1 tbsp
- Peppercorns -1 tsp
- Sesame seeds - 1 tbsp
- Butter -1 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Oil for deep frying
- Water as required
Preparation Method
- In a bowl add idli rice, wash 2 to 3 times, then soak it for 3 hours
- Then grind to fine thick batter.
- Roast urad dal until light brown, let it cool.
- in a mixie jar add pottukadalai, roasted urad dal, peppercorns finely grind.
- In a bowl add ground pottukadalai, urad dal mixture, Peppercorns, Sesame, Ajwain , oil, butter, salt, cumin seeds, mix well
- Add water, make soft dough
- Place handful dough in a murukku kuzhal, squeeze over the oil, deep fry till crisp on medium hot oil.
- You can make shape over ladle or buttersheet also
- Flip over & fry another side.
- Once it ready or the oil sound disappears then take it out & drain on absorbent paper.
- Leave it for room temperature [Apr. 2 min]. Then store in an airtight container
