Idli rice murukku | Garlic chilli chakli-How to make-Step by step photos

Ingredients
- Idli rice– 1 cup
- Garlic –4 cloves
- Dry red chilli – 2
- Roasted gram [pottukadalai]-1/4 cup
- Sesame seeds- 1 tbsp
- Ajwain[omam, carom seeds]- 1 tbsp
- Oil - 2 tbsp
- Oil for deep frying
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed
Preparation Method
- In a mixie jar add roasted gram, grind to fine powder, you can sieve the powder after grinding.
- Wash & soak idli rice & dry red chilli 2 to 3 hours. Then drain water.
- In a mixie jar add, soaked idli rice, dry red chill & garlic grind to fine paste.
- In a bowl add ground idli rice mixture, carom seeds, sesame seeds, salt, ground roasted gram powder, & oil mix well.
- Make soft and smooth dough.
- Add 1 tbsp oil over the dough, keep it aside.
- Heat enough oil in a pan, take murukku mould plate then place it in a muruku kuzhal.
- Fill the prepared dough in a muruku kuzhal [one handful] & just press out or squeeze over the ladle & deep fry till crisp on medium hot oil.
- Flip over & fry another side.
- Once it ready or the oil sound disappears then take it out & drain on absorbent paper.
- Leave it for room temperature [Apr. 2 min]. Then store in an airtight container

Wash & soak idli rice, dry red chilli for 3 hours
Drain water
Put soaked idli rice, dry red chilli, garlic in mixie jar
Coarsely grind, add water, grind to smooth batter
Now its ready
Add salt
Take 1/4 roasted gram
Put it in a mixie jar, grind to fine powder
Roasted gram powder ready
Add roasted gram powder
Add 2 tbsp oil
Add ajwain
Add black sesame seeds
Murukku dough ready
Put 1 handful dough in murukku kuzhal
Squeeze
Squeeze over the ladle
Drop it in hot oil
Deep fry till crisp
Drain on absorbent paper
Store in an airtight container use within 1 month
