Groundnut rice | Verkadalai sadam-How to make-Step by step photos

Ingredients
- Rice – 1 cup [boiled]
- Groundnut [Verkadalai, moongphali] – 3 tbsp
- Garlic– 3
- Coconut – 2 tbsp [grated]
- Dry red chilli – 2 or 3
- Tamarind – 1 inch piece
- Urad dal– 1 tbsp
- Bengal gram –1 1/2 tbsp
- Curry leaves – 1 spring
- Asafoetida[Hing, perungayam] – 1/2 tsp
- Mustard seeds– 1 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Gingelly oil – 1 tbsp
- Oil – 1 tbsp
Preparation Method
- Dry roast groundnut, let it cool, peel off the skin, keep it aside.
- Boil rice, spread it over the plate, let it cool.
- Heat oil in a pan, add bengal gram, urad dal, dry red chilli, garlic, & coconut roast till light brown.
- Then let it cool.
- Put roasted ingredients in a mixer jar, add tamarind & groundnut coarsely grind.
- Heat oil in a pan, add mustard, curry leaves, hing freshly ground groundnut mixture saute for a min.
- Then add boiled rice & salt mix well.
- Pour 1 tbsp of ginelly oil mix well then cut off heat. Serve hot.
How to make Groundnut rice-Step by step photos
Dry roast groundnut, let it cool, Peel off the skin, keep it aside
Heat 2 tbsp oil, add chana dal, urad dal roast till light brown
Add garlic, dry red chilli, coconut saute
Transfer mixture to a plate, let it cool, add tamarind
Put roasted ingredients in a mixie jar, coarsely grind without water
Coarsely ground groundnut mixture ready, keep it aside
Heat 1 tbsp oil, add mustard, curry leaves, asafoetida
Add groundnut mixture
Add boiled rice
Add salt
Mix well
Now its ready, cut off heat
