Ingredients
- Chitra rajma sundal [Brown kidney beans]– 1 cup
- Onion – 1[sliced,For Navrathri Dont Add]
- Garlic - 1 [mashed,For Navrathri Dont Add garlic, add ginger or asafetida or cumin seeds]
- Green chilli – 1[slit]
- Curry leaves – 1 spring
- Coriander leaves – 2 springs [chopped]
- Coconut – ¼ cup [grated]
- Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Dry mango powder – ¼ tsp
- Garam masala – ¼ tsp
- Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
- Bengal gram – 1 tbsp
- Urad dal – 1 tbsp
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed
Preparation
- Wash & soak Chitra rajma overnight.
- Pressure cook Chitra rajma for 5 whistles. Then drain water.
- Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds & let it splutter. Then add Bengal gram & urad dal.
- Add onion sauté till soft. Then add garlic, green chilli, 2 tbsp coconut and curry leaves.
- Add boiled Chitra rajma, turmeric & red chilli powder mix well, sauté for 2 min.
- Add salt, dry mango powder, garam masala powder & coconut mix well.
- Then cut off heat & sprinkle coriander leaves mix well.
- Serve hot with rice or tea.
