Badam murukku | Almond chakli-How to make-Step by step photos & video

Ingredients
- Badam[Almond]– 1/4 cup
- Garlic –4 cloves
- Dry red chilli – 2
- Rice flour -1/2 cup
- Gram flour - 1/4 cup
- Red chilli powder- 1 tbsp
- Turmeric powder- 1 tsp
- Cumin seeds- 1 tbsp
- Ghee - 1 tbsp
- Oil - 2 tbsp
- Oil for deep frying
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed
Preparation Method
- Wash & soak almond in warm water for 2 to 3 hours. Then peel off the skin.
- In a mixie jar add, soaked almond, dry red chill & garlic grind to fine paste.
- In a bowl add gram flour, rice flour, asafetida, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, cumin seeds, salt, & ghee mix well.
- Add ground almond paste mix well.
- Then add water mix well, knead it & make soft dough [It should be soft & non sticky].
- Add 1 tbsp oil over the dough, keep it aside.
- Heat enough oil in a pan, take murukku mould plate then place it in a muruku kuzhal.
- Fill the prepared dough in a muruku kuzhal [one handful] & just press out or squeeze over the ladle & deep fry till crisp on medium hot oil.
- Flip over & fry another side.
- Once it ready or the oil sound disappears then take it out & drain on absorbent paper.
- Leave it for room temperature [Apr. 2 min]. Then store in an airtight container

Wash & soak almond for 3 hours
In a mixie jar add, soaked almond, dry red chilli & garlic, grind to smooth paste
Badam paste ready
In a bowl add rice flour, gram flour, turmeric powder & red chilli powder
Add asafoetida
Add salt
Add cumin seeds, oil
Add ghee
Add ground paste
Mix well, add water, knead it, make soft dough
Place one handful dough in murukku kuzhal
Squeeze over the ladle
Drop it in hot oil
Deep fry till crisp
Now its ready, remove it from oil
Almond chakli ready, store in an airtight container, use within 1 week
